Introduction
With 68 years of manufacturing experience in the fabrication of quality mailboxes, RIOPEL remains focused on delivering quality products to its decerning clientele and its loyal distributors. After a few challenging years since the beginning of COVID, from 2023 onwards RIOPEL has drastically improved it’s manufacturing and order handling processes to quickly respond to the needs of the market.
As much as possible, RIOPEL is now committed to the following Lead Times of 10 to 15 working days for the fabrication of its M1000, M2000 and M2300 series mailboxes as well as it’s M6000 and M9000 series mailboxes. Those lead Times do not include shipping.
RIOPEL further distinguishes itself in the market by being the only manufacturer to use Stainless Steel in its products. All parts are manufactured in-house except for the Aluminum Extrusion Parts & Locks. RIOPEL is the oldest and only true Canadian Manufacturer of quality mailbox products.
CMC Lock F3970C – October 2025
As of October 20, 2025, RIOPEL has decided to permanently discontinue its CMC S101 1100 F3970C lock. The underlying reason is that this lock’s sole purpose was to be used with Canadian Mailbox Company Mailboxes. Although the lock was a favorite amongst the clients of RIOPEL’s many distributors, the management of RIOPEL feels that it is not in the company’s best interest to sell products that support the products of one of its main competitor.
Stainless Steel Finish on Mailboxes – August 2025
In this little bit of news RIOPEL would like to remind its customers that Stainless Steel doors and finishes are available on the majority of its mailbox products. Starting from our very popular M1000 model which features beautiful stainless-steel doors and trims to our M6000 mailbox series which now offers a stainless-steel door finish as well.
Other M6000 series finishes also include Anodized colours in Black, Dark Bronze, Light Bronze and Champagne. Various paint colours are also available.

New CNC Punch – April 2025
As part of RIOPEL’s commitment to modernize and improve it’s manufacturing processes, a considerable investment has been made in the acquisition of a new CNC Punch. This new CNC Punch allows us to significantly reduce the number of steps in the production of each part used in the assembly of our many mailbox products. Further, as part of RIOPEL’s commitment to lower its impact on the environment, this new investment also helps us to reduce the amount of waste material resulting from the parts production process.
More significantly, the increased production efficiency allows for a better management of the stock of parts, increasing availability and resulting in a faster response to orders from our valued clients.
New Price List - March 2025
As of March 1st, 2025, RIOPEL has introduced a new Price List to respond to the increased costs of it’s manufacturing process, the cost of raw materials and other components used in the fabrication of its mailbox products.
New Oven & Degreaser – October 2024
RIOPEL’s continued commitment to lower its impact on the environment by investing in more energy efficient machinery, RIOPEL has made a considerable investment to replace its aging oven as well as it’s degreaser. The result is a reduction in its carbon footprint as well as an improvement in the overall quality and finish of its mailboxes.
New Presses - August 2024
RIOPEL is pleased to announce the arrival of new 25T presses to replace aging Brown & Boggs used since the 1950s. These new presses are sufficient for the fabrication and shaping of parts for our various mailbox products.
